Career
Choices Incorporated (CCI) provides Workforce Investment Act (WIA)
services through participation in a Workforce Investment Board certified
One-Stop Center in Vanderburgh County. These services are provided
in conjunction with our partners from the Department of Workforce
Development and the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation as part
of the One Stop Consortium. CCI's Posey County Express site provides
comprehensive services for residents in that county. Other partners
include: IVY Tech State College, EVSC, HUD Employment and Training
Programs, Community Service Block Grant programs, The Office of
Family and Children, Title V Older Worker programs, Training 2000,
Local Planning Councils, 21st Century Scholars, School to Work programs,
Child Care Development programs, Step Ahead and Job Corps.
WIA services
available to everyone include:
Registration
into the CS3 system (the State of Indiana's job matching program)
Initial
Assessment to determine an individual's skill level, aptitudes
and supportive service needs)
Orientations
to explain expanded services available in the WorkOne Center (Orientations
are held every Tuesday at 8:30am and 1:30pm, every Thursday at
1:30pm and every Friday at 8:30am)
Vocational
Testing (The Career Opportunity Placement System (COPs System)
is used to assist customers in choosing a career)
The Information
Resource Area (The IRA provides an array of services for job-seeking
customers. These services include: self-help materials, computers,
reference materials, city and state maps, telephone directories,
newspapers and copy machines as well as videos on how to write
resumes, cover letters, interviewing, job search, career exploration,
networking, stress, self esteem and transitioning careers)
